What are we looking forward to at London Book Fair 2020?
The London Book Fair is always a highlight for our calendar here at Printondemand-worldwide – and the 2020 event, being held at Olympia, London from 10-12 March, is no different.
Besides being at our stands – 1F56 and 6A78 – we will be busy making the most of the great talks, industry updates and networking opportunities always available at this annual event.
If you’re planning on attending London Book Fair 2020, we would love to say hello!
With the countdown officially on to the 10th March, we thought we would pick out some of the highlights we’re looking forward to at London Book Fair 2020:
Quantum Talks: AI, Machine Learning and the Future of Publishing
We are happy to admit we’re printing technology geeks – we love learning more about the latest tech in publishing and printing! A panel debate with members from the Publishers Association and the Intellectual Property Office, this session aims to assess how artificial intelligence and machine learning are transforming the UK publishing industry. We look forward to learning more…
Exploring the World of Non-Fiction Content for Children: Books & Other Media
Part of the Nielsen Book: UK Children’s Summit 2020, we are hoping to pop along to this morning session looking specifically at the world of non-fiction for children. Featuring the latest trends, data and a Q&A session, we are looking forward to learning more about where this sector of children’s publishing is heading. We work with many children’s publishers, creating everything from high-quality colour books, through to personalised books perfect for gifting, so we’ll use this session as an opportunity to stay ahead of the trends with our customers!
The Sharjah Market Focus Cultural Programme for The London Book Fair 2020
This may not be a specific event or session at The London Book Fair – but it is certainly still something we’re looking forward to. In partnership with the British Council and the Sharjah Book Authority, this programme will see twelve of the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s most prominent and exciting writers welcomed to event, providing an opportunity for all to learn more about Emirati writing and its place within the rich canon of Arabic literature, with talks addressing the influence of fairy tale and folklore in Emirati writing; the use of Arabic language and dialect; and the region’s long-standing poetry tradition.
What Works? Education Conference
The education conference at London Book Fair always provides a relevant and timely update to the challenges and opportunities facing education publishers. We have a rich customer base of publishers in the education sector, so this is a must-attend session for us! We’re looking forward to learning about the developments in technology changing how materials are used in the classroom, whilst not underestimating the role that printed materials still have to play.
Of course, we couldn’t have a summary of highlights at London Book Fair without including the opportunity to meet with you – publishers and customers who are interested in learning more about how our printing technology, cost-effective solutions and new print-on-demand platforms can help your business.
If we don’t bump into you at one of the above events, or at our stands (1F56 and 6A78), make sure you book an appointment with us here.
