Further expansion for Peterborough firm
One of Peterborough biggest success stories has completed another expansion with the integration of the established Cityprint brand under its wing.
The Orton Southgate book manufacturer, currently producing both paperback and hardback books for some of the world's biggest publishers will now be able to offer a wider range of printed materials, such as brochures, flyers and letterheads.
"At the moment we specialise in print runs of up to 3000 books but this merger will also enable us to offer longer run printing as well as focusing on what is know as print on demand production, which means books are only produced when need" said managing director Andy Cork.
The latest expansion follows the amalgamation of Milton Keynes based Digital book Print in November, which coincided with the best quarter in the company's 15-year history.
"We're investing in some of the best digital colour printing equipment in the world to enable us to give a better service to local business, Cityprint's clients, our own exciting clients and anyone else requiring good quality colour print" continued Mr Cork.
"We will be the only local company using HP Indigo equipment which is mid-way between traditional lithographic printing and the digital approach that we have always used in the past".
Printondemand-worldwide moved from Fengate to Orton Southgate in 2008 and last year doubled its factory floor space. The company employs around 35 people and is producing books at the rate near to a million a year.
