In The Press: PODW at Forward Thinking Printing

Web to print has been a huge issue for many printers, especially among those in the US.  At Forward Thinking Printing, an event held at The Stationers’ Hall, London, on 31st October, this was just one of the topics that was up for discussion on the day.  The event was designed to give maximum information in a fast-paced, interactive, non-sales environment. Between sessions there was ample opportunity for networking.

Our managing director, Andy Cork, was one of the panellists in the 45 minute session about web to print, which also included Gary Peeling of Precision Printing and Mike Horsten of Mimaki.

Some of the questions asked included: When did you start and why? How did you decide on the technology that you use? Has it become mainstream for your business or is it an adjunct? How has it changed customer relationships?  When asked about how Printondemand-worldwide deals with the issue of web to print, Andy replied, “During the busiest times of the year we have enough conventional work, so we can switch off the website, or raise the prices to slow the rate of orders.  At other times of the year we will offer discounts.”
